Customer Reviews
The season that starts it all !!!!!!!!
Cycle 1 of America's Next Top Model is still the best of it all! Tyra was acting like a ture pro instead of a comedian(As she is now!!!!!!!!). The cast is perfect! All the girls have the looks & brains to be a cover girl(Unlike the "Airhead Gone Wild" types from the more recent seasons!!!!!!). This cycle is more about modeling than drama. Winner Adrianne has already make a name for herself. Elyse has been modeling around the world & make quite a name for herself in Hong Kong. When I was in Hong Kong back in April, I saw Elyse's photos everywhere. She was being interview by "HK Magazine"(along the line of "Now Weekly" in Toronto, Canada!)when her book "Beauty and the Biz: The International Adventures of America's Third-to-Next Top Model" was published there back in February. Her book signing session was received with a long line-up of fans from all nations. The girls from this cycle are the one who really have some sort of modeling careers after the show ended! In its 7th cycles, cycles 1 still remains the best of it all. Cycle 2 comes in a close 2nd & the rest are just down hill all the way!!!!!
aswome
Being a huge fan of the tv series, I was practically first in line at the store to buy this one. (I couldn't wait to have it shipped to my house.) It's great to watch your favorite episodes without the interruptions of commercials. So two thumbs up for that. I was a bit disappointed by the bonus features. The boxset's final disc (all nine episodes and bonus features are provided on three discs) shows merely a few moments of inital castings and how the girls were chosen. It also shows a few interviews with Jay Manuel (the make-up artist) and Jay Alexander (the runway coach). I was hoping for more footage of the girls' catfights and behind the scene footage of the judging sessions. All in all the first season on DVD is great but I hope UPN provides us with a bit more when the second season comes out.
