Customer Reviews
Where was this disc 17 years ago?
Well, better late than never! Not only is this disc a nice live document of Loverboy, but it also works as a solid "Best Of" from the group. In terms of song selection, it outdoes their two greatest hits comps because at least this cd includes "Queen Of The Broken Hearts"! The only hit not on here is that song from TOP GUN, but I don't think we really need a live version of that. The sound on this cd is quite good and it's jam-packed at 73+ minutes. It's also on the "Best Value" line, so you can find it at a good price if you look around. ROCK ON!!!
IT'S ABOUT TIME! LOVERBOY LIVE ROCKS!
Anybody growing up in the early eighties should remember crankin their car stereos up loud to such party hardy songs as "Working For The Weekend" and "Jump". Then there were the hard driving ballads like "When It's Over" and all out fun rockers like "Hot Girls In Love". These guys played hard, even though their image was a bit much for the guys. You know what I mean, The red leather pants, Mike Reno's bandanas, and even their name "Loverboy" made it a little tougher for us guys to say "Loverboy - Hell Yeah, Man". Now had they been "Mike Reno & The Raiders" or something. Never the less, behind the image was some hard drivin' all out rock n roll worthy of all respect.
This LIVE CD proves how good of musicians these guys really were. I mean these guys played tight, as tight as their pants, and really knew how to rock the joint. This should have been released back in '86. The songs on this CD were taken from concerts that included their tour with Journey. Loverboy & Journey, now there was a sold-out stadium event if there ever was one. This is one of the Superbowl's of concert recordings.
Do yourself a favor, and relive your youth, at least in your music.
RECOMMENDATION: Buy this CD, drop the kids off with grandma for a couple hours, and lose yourself for a little while back in the eighties.
Die Hard 80's Fan
What a fantastic CD!!! I was really into Loverboy from 1980 to 1986. then only got it out from time to time, replacing my old albums with the CD's when they came out. There is nothing bad about this CD. The sound quality is awesome and the mix of songs is perfect, with only a couple missing. Gangs In The Street and Teenage Overdose. I saw Loverboy live twice in the early 80's and this CD takes me back to those great years. I wish they would have released a live album like this back when they were in their prime.
