Cloud Nine est l'album de la transition pour les Temptations, celui qui annonce le virage psychédélique pris en 1969. La soul se nourrit alors de la richesse du rock blanc, rallie la bannière du funk et affiche clairement ses opinions politiques. L'heure est aux revendications sociales et révolutionnaires comme en témoigne "Run Away Child, Running Wild", qui annonce le What's Going On de Marvin Gaye. Norman Whitfield, dont la patte est reconnaissable entre mille, échafaude des arrangement à la luxuriance jamais égalée depuis par les Temptations. Barrett Strong peaufine le discours politique du groupe   "Slave" sur Puzzle People en est un parfait exemple. Packaged in a full color slipcase with original artwork and 8 page booklet. The former LP hit #4 & is available separately in the U.S. with a $9.97 suggested list; the latter reached #5 & is unavailable in the U.S.

I'm doing fine
This CD features two Temptations albums from the late '60s. They are typical of Motown albums from the '60s, which usually featured one or two hits, and a lot of filler. In the case of Cloud Nine, the hits are "Cloud Nine" and "Runaway Child, Running Wild". The hits from Puzzle People are "I Can't Get Next To You" and "Don't Let the Jones Get You Down". These are great songs, but most of the rest of the songs aren't that interesting (although the cover version of "Hey Jude" has it's moments). This CD is for hardcore Motown fans only.
