Customer Reviews
Great classic sounds of rockabilly album
This is a greatest hits compiliation taken from earlier Magnum vinyl issues. The sound quality is rated 8 out of 10 on the cd sleeve. The sound is actually BETTER than most 50's rockabilly compilations... just don't expect it to stand next to something recorded 30 years later. It's mono. But the performances make up for the uneven but better than most sound quality. They've done an excellent job of picking good performances in the true rockabilly sound: It's a mix of music between Elvis, hillbilly music, Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran and the Burnette Brothers...But none of these are hits... similar to many other similar compiliations... but this one is a step above because they've boiled it down to 35 two minute gems.... I recommend this compilation to anyone looking to get to know this specific gendre beyond the known hits of the 50's era and some latter music....
