About the Author
William Lindesay lived in Xi'an for four years, during which time he visited the mausoleum of Qin Shihuangdi on 15 occasions. His previous books include Alone on the Great Wall (Hodder & Stoughton) and The Great Wall, the latter in the same series as this title. He currently lives in Beijing. Guo Baofu, on whose archaeological text Lindesay based his writing, is director of the Preservation and Conservation Department, Museum of Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuangdi. Guo studied archaeology at Beijing University.
