Product Description
In 1974, Bill Clarke wrote one of the first and most incisive books on the life and work of Jean Vanier and l'Arche. He captured the spiritual heart and the soul of Vanier's work with people with disabilities as it was still emerging in his work and his own spiritual development.
Clarke has a unique perspective on the world of l'Arche. As a young priest, he travelled to Trosly, France to observe l'Arche in action. Inspired and impressed by what he witnessed and experienced, he was moved to write about the spirituality of l'Arche. He has maintained an abiding link with Jean Vanier and l'Arche, serving as the chaplain to the international l'Arche organization.
Sadly, the book went out of print, even though it continued to be a much sought-after introduction to the world of Vanier and l'Arche. Novalis is pleased to publish a fully-revised and updated version of this contemporary classic, with a new introduction by Jean Vanier.
