Product Description

On their sixth trip into the past, Emily and Matt are on the Saskatchewan prairies in the late 1800s finding out what life was like for the early settlers of Canada's midwest. The children have a chance to experience the close community of the one-room schoolhouse and even help build a sod hut. Like in all the other Canadian Flyer books, children and teachers will love the extra notes in the back. What kids are saying about the series: "I would like to tell the author that her book is amazing, incredible, awesome, and a million times better than any book I've ever read." (Maria) Ages 6-9.

Editorial Reviews

Review
Readers will become fans very quickly and will be anticipating the next trip to the dresser just as much as do Emily and Matt. This entire series should be in every Canadian library. (CM Magazine: Canadian Review of Materials )

This action-adventure story is a good choice for the student wishing to read an easy chapter book. Short chapters, large-size font and numerous, engaging black and white illustrations make for an appealing, accessible format. (Resource Links )

If you liked the exciting Beware, Pirates!, the loud Danger, Dinosaurs!, the golden Crazy for Gold, the exploring Yikes, Vikings!, or the soaring Flying High!, then you’ll definitely love Pioneer Kids. It’s a good series for kids as old as twelve. They will love them like I did! (Victoria, age 10, Sarah’s Stars )
