Needs lots of organization and less assumptions
This book has lots of good information and numbers, but is in desperate need of editing and nearly impossible to follow. The format is basically a single paragraph spanning 100 pages with no organization or breaks. There is also lots of repeat information. Often an identical sequence of 200+ words appears more than once on the same page. Seems as if there was no publisher editing done at all which makes it nearly impossible to follow.
The book also assumes you know a significant amount about building V8 motors, so I wouldn't recommend it for new mechanics.
I'm disappointed with this book. It has a good amount of info but is quite painful to try read.
Excellent Book, Very Detailed.
I was very impressed with this book. I like how the author stressed the safety of nitrous oxide --- when used correctly. This is not a step-by-step installation guide (THAT you should get from the manufacturer). It goes through nitrous systems and explains each part of it, and explains the physics and science behind its use. If you are a dedicated tuner and want more than the normal "plug this in here" approach and actually want to understand the system that you are working with then this is the book for you. Joe Pettitt also covers fuel systems, determining fuel system capabalities, and the options for increasing fuel delivery in addition to mechanical upgrades, ignition upgrades, and why they are important. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
