From Booklist
Those who believe that "a rose is a rose is a rose" might also feel that if you've seen one fuchsia, you've seen them all. Nothing could be further from the truth, however, as evidenced in Bartlett's guide to 1,500 fuchsia cultivars and species. Organized in an alphabetical catalog, it provides a concise portrait of each plant, with more than 500 supporting color photographs. While the descriptions are brief, they efficiently communicate such usable information as which fuchsias grow well as shrubs versus those best used in hanging baskets. Once you've been introduced to the immense variety of fuchsias, it's easy to see how a passion for these exotic plants could evolve; and yet, even the most experienced gardeners are often intimidated by the fuchsia's intense beauty, laboring under the false impression that something so exquisite must be difficult to maintain. Not to worry: Bartlett exudes confidence, backing his claim that even gardeners with limited experience can achieve success by offering practical advice on care and cultivation. Carol Haggas

The popularity of the fuchsia continues to flourish. Despite its exotic appearance, the plant is easy to grow and propagate, making it an especially good choice for the gardener with limited time, experience, or space. Now, in George Bartlett's new book--a natural successor to his "Fuchsias--A Colour Guide" --he updates enthusiasts and specialists on 1,500 of the very latest cultivars. This invaluable guide describes each flower, providing notes on: color, foliage, and habit; hardiness, height, and spread; cultivation and display; and the name of the raiser and the parent plants. Packed with professional advice on care and propagation, and illustrated with more than 500 color photos, this is an essential companion for all admirers and growers of this beautiful plant.

If you love fuchsias, this is one for your library.
Describing over 2,000 fuchsia cultivars and with over 700 close-up color photos of fuchsia flowers, this is a book for those who want to identify and add more plants to their garden. It covers many of the more commonly found fuchsias as well as many of the more unusual ones to be sought. The book is perhaps best for the connoisseur of fuchsias, or those who want to be (like me). About 18 pages cover the history and care of fuchsias and I have found the information helpful.
