Discovering Oracle Analytical Functions Saves the Day!
I discovered Oracle 10g's analytical functions on a project where I needed to calculate the amount of time between events that occurred by groups. Calculating the amount of time between records on the same table is quite
something. You need to know the value of the previous record to be able to calculate the difference... With the lead and lag analytical functions it's easy. Oracle's analytical functions saved me days of programming!

This book shows you each of the analytical functions one by one with full syntax and clear examples how to use all these commands. I did not have this book when I discovered analytical functions but I have it now and discovered new things. Looking forward where I can use these analytical functions again to solve a something that without an analytical functions would be quite a challenge. This book will help me for sure!
