Eury orders a drink on a plane that's getting ready for take off when we see some flight attendants chasing around someone or something. It's revealed to be Machika and Kiki who the attendants recognize as they've tried to stow away on planes 10 times in the last six months. Kiki reveals he can talk as he starts screaming at them for being mean. Machika begs them to let her go to "Raimei" where the Calvaria company is but the attendants aren't very kind hearted. Luckily, Eury appears and helps Machika escape. Machika is very angry with Eury and demands he return Rain. Eury doesn't know anything about it and we find out that Machika has been searching for Rain for a year. Eury feels bad and tells her that they have to get away from the airport. The scene shifts to Calvaria company where Sheram is holding a conference about the Bio Angel Project which is being attended by leaders from all over the world. She introduces Yuca as her second in command on the project, though she calls him Y's Colderan. She tells everyone to enjoy the show and we see a large creature appear at the plane from earlier. The flight attendants from before run for their lives as a cheery announcer describes the Angel weapon for the conference members. Eury and Machika see it happening and it's explained that Eury brought it on board. The creature stands over a young man as his girlfriend calls out to him. She starts crying and seeing this, Machika runs into save him. She is able to grab the boy and hide behind a metal door. The young man is freaked out but Machika reassures him that she'll save him and he has to live because someone is waiting for him. Eury sees this and wants to console her but tells her that Rain has to be dead after what happened. The creature gets through the door and charges, but Machika is able to cut its head off and kill it. Eury tells here to come to Calvaria if she wants to see Rain. The rescued boy and his girl are reunited and thanks Machika but she demands money so she can get to Calvaria. Machika is now in the crowded capital of Raimei and asks someone on the street where Calvaria. In response, the guy thinks she's stupid and points to the huge black building right in front of here. Machika runs into Calvaria expecting a fight but realizes its just a large business building. The lady at the front desk assumes Machika is a cosplayer. Machika asks for a person named Yuca or Sharem but gets impatient and demands the lady produce Rain. Nobody understands what she's saying and the guard shows her out. Penniless and starving, Machika begs on the streets until she's reunited with Ayla. Sharem invites Yuca to a party but he says he wants to play with Rain. We then see Rain unconscious on a bed with tubes coming out of him from all over the place. Machika and Ayla catch up on old times and Ayla takes Machika shopping for some new clothes. Ayla promises to help Machika find Rain. Meanwhile, Yuca talks to Rain about what they should play but there's no response from Rain no matter what Yuca says. He tells Rain he saw Machika and leaves the room, we see tears fall from Rain's face. Machika and Ayla sneak into Calveria but are soon spotted. Machika escapes and uses the company broadcast system to send a message to Rain. Rain comes too and starts screaming as he tries to free himself. Machika leaves the broadcast room to hide again when she's met by Yuca, who she doesn't recognize. He says he's Sharem's son and that his father's computer knows everything that's going on in the company. Eury walks in on Rain trying to free himself and Rain yells that Machika is in danger. At the computer Machika has Y's search for Yuca but nothing comes up. Machika thinks Yuca is like an evil scientist or something. Yuca smiles and uses the computer to release something called "Cerebus." Eury frees Rain, who tries to run off to save Machika, but finds that he can barely move. Yuca looks up Methuselah and the computer said he died a year ago. A big dog creature jumps in and knocks Machika out of the window as the book ends.

Totally awesome!
I'm not a fan of action-oriented manga, but THIS one surprised the crapola outta me. It had just the right balance of action, humour and drama to make it very compelling. The main characters are engaging right from the get-go, and the supporting cast add their own touch to the story. What's great is that we know right from the beginning that the main character has a terrible burden to bear, but the author doesn't reveal much, all the while managing to spin some great yarn! Can't wait to read volume 2!
PS: I'M A GARDEN TREE!! Totally classic...
GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(...) this is one of the best manga I have read, my first was kill me, kiss me which is great as well, but this one surpassed my expectations, great artwork and some valuable sayings, I advise anyone to read it!
Absolutely Superb
Immortal Rain was the very first Manga book that I have ever read.At first, reading a manga book can be quite confusing because of the right-to-left reading pattern. Once you get the hang of it these books become very enjoyable. I found Immortal Rain to be absolutely wonderful. What Can I say about it? It has the elements that many look for in a good book. It has action, drama and even some comical moments! It contains a well put together story-line and talented artwork.
Rain Jewlitt is 624 is an immortal man known as Methuselah, whose only possession is a violin that he plays so badly that the heavens cry. Rain is much like an eternally young hippie. He is being hunted by people who either want to collect the bounty on his head or study him and unlock the secrets of his immortality. Machika Balfaltin, an energetic, tomboyish 14-year-old girl is one of his pursuers who just wants him dead. Upon the death of her grandfather, she sets out to kill Methuselah, the one bounty her assassin grandfather, Zol the Grim Reaper, couldn't kill. Instead, however, Machika ends up being saved by Rain repeatedly from other aspiring bounty hunters attacking them both. This seems to form the bonds of the ultimate odd couple.
Meteor Methuselah (as it is called in Japan) is a great read for teens and adults of all ages.
