About the Author
Dr. Deborah Newman and daughter Rachel Newman have teamed up to write to girls about an important subject they understand from different perspectives. Deborah was a therapist for eighteen years and now serves as the minister to women at a large church, and Rachel is a teen who is facing body image issues right now.

Rachel graduated from Trinity Christian High School in 2006. She is presently pursuing her undergraduate degree in psychology and elementary education and hopes to be a child therapist in the future. She brings her firsthand awareness of body image issues from teaching Bible studies to middle school girls and from her personal encounters with this subject. Rachel loves music, reading, and hanging out with friends.
