Customer Reviews
a cookbook with virtually no photos
"350 mouthwatering recipes" and only ten photos in the whole book. Currently my raw food repertoire consists of veggie sticks, dips, salads, and juice. I would like to branch out and try more elaborate recipes, but this book didn't provide any photos which a newbie needs as a visual reference.
Photos of the final product as well as prep techniques would REALLY help. I've shelved the book for now.
[Also, I'm never fond of books that promote specific brands, which this one does, and many of the recipes rely on the special features of those specific brands for success (ie juicer, blender, slicer and dehydrator). I'm not about to spend $1000 to buy four new appliances.]
Probably better for current raw foodies who already have the right tools and techniques.
Lots of Variety
This is a great raw food book. Simple recipes without a huge, long list of hard to find ingredients. Lots of variety, too. Try the Roasted Bell Pepper Cheese and Mushroom Risotto.
The Power of Raw!!!!!
This book is perfect for the beginner, the novice, or the advanced. There are miles and miles of recipes from the top raw chefs. You will never run out of recipes to try. Pick one recipe to try each week and spruce up your food arsenal.
I have been eating live foods for about a year...I wish I would have found this book sooner....it can replace all of the other cookbooks that I purchased. Whether you are 100% raw or 10% raw this is a great cookbook to own.
Hotep!
