Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal
YA-An extremely useful guide for campers who have had a bit of experience. Yaffe provides information on the different aspects of a trip from gathering the right equipment and food, through the route selection, and onto what to do when campers arrive at their site. Her timesaving planning tips and the detailed checklists for preparing for different types of trips will help readers maximize their enjoyment of the great outdoors. Yaffe is a proponent of using a dehydrator for lightweight, nutritional meals that can easily be rehydrated and heated. She provides clear instructions on preparing dehydrated food prior to the trek, as well as over 25 appropriate recipes. Special tips are highlighted in sidebars. Each chapter is divided into easy-to-read sections of no more than two pages. The instructions for buying and using equipment are very sparse. However, experienced campers who want to improve their organization and efficiency will profit from this handbook.
