Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal
Photojournalist adventurers, the Morrows have produced a spectacular book of color photos commemorating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of gold in the West and the opening of Canada's Yukon territory. This remote and sparsely populated region, which lies north of British Columbia and east of Alaska, is home to beautiful mountain ranges, lakes, glaciers, tundra, caribou, and only 30,000 people. It was originally populated by gold miners, but tourists are now the driving force of the Yukon's economy. Fitting, then, that the Morrows' photos and brief descriptive text will inspire more visitation and exploration. Their work contributes to the discovery and enjoyment of the region as David Muench does for Arizona and John Fielder for Colorado. Recommended for large public libraries.?Thomas K.
