A Woman’s Tender Touch
He was born to a clan of warriors of supernatural strength, but Gavrael McIllioch abandoned his name and his Highland castle, determined to escape the dark fate of his ancestors. Hiding his identity from the relentless rival clan that hunted him, he called himself Grimm to protect the people he cared for, vowing never to acknowledge his love for ravishing Jillian St. Clair. Yet even from afar he watched over her, and when her father sent an urgent summons, "Come for Jillian," he raced to her side - into a competition to win her hand in marriage.
A Warrior’s Steely Heart
Why had he run from her so many years before? And why return now to see her offered as a prize in her father's manipulative game? Furious, Jillian vowed never to wed. But Grimm was the man she loved, the one who urged her to marry another. He tried to pretend indifference as she tempted him, but he could not deny the fierce desires that compelled him to abduct her from the altar. She was the only woman who could tame the beast that raged within him - even as deadly enemies plotted to destroy them both....

Customer Reviews
Okay read, but not Moning's best
Compared to the other books in this series, I found this book to be good, but not great. I think that I would advise people who are new to the series to skip the first two books and simply start with the third. Although the first two books do provide a certain measure of background information, I did not find it to be particularly important to understanding the subsequent books. I think that it is fair to say that K.M.Moning's writing gets better with every book that she writes.
You'll Swoon
Grimm is a deliciously tormented hero, and Jillian, simply done with begging him to love her. I am a sucker for a man who fears the devestation that could be caused by his own power, and Grimm/Gavriel is just the man! Also, there are three men competing for Jillian's heart, and whoa, that is just fantastically ideal if you want to escape by stepping into her petticoats for a few days. There is danger, a mildly unexpected twist, some misunderstandings that could have been cleared up by simple conversation, but all in all, this book succeeds in telling a rapturous story. The hero truly does love the heroine, and will not do harm by her. That, to me, is a love story worthy of big SIGHS and gentle tears. Jillian truly helps Gavriel to grow as a person and to find himself, and ultimately, claim redemption and see his own worth. This, to me, is what soulmates do. :)
An exquisite read!
Gavrael and Gillian. This is, amongst the 7 Moning books I've read so far, her only female character that isn't American. I was delighted to discover her. Moning builds such strong male and female characters one wishes to become more like them. This tale is wonderful and full of magical moments. Again Moning delighted me with her descriptions of places, people and of breathtaking love scenes and profound love sentiments between her main characters. Well done.
