About the Author
Before joining the editorial staff at Nolo, Peri Pakroo was the editor of two arts and entertainment weeklies -- The Stranger in Seattle and NuCity in Albuquerque -- both of which she helped launch with a scrappy crew of expatriates from Wisconsin, her home state. She took a break from publishing to go to law school, and received a law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1995. Bringing together her law and publishing experience, she began editing legal books for Nolo in 1996, specializing in small business issues. She is the author of Open Your California Business in 24 Hours, and has edited Nolo's Starting & Running a Successful Newsletter or Magazine, Music Law: How to Run Your Band's Business, and How to Write a Business Plan, among other titles. She lives with Juno, Kitty B and Turtle in San Francisco.
