If your digestion or elimination doesn't seem normal or right to you, learn more about it5
Brenda Watson, C.T. (colon therapist) is among the foremost authorities in America on natural digestive support, detoxification and internal cleansing. In her new book, Gut Solutions: Natural Solutions for Your Digestive Problems she thoroughly describe the inner workings of digestion and detoxification. Colorful Pictures, charts, lists, and notes break up the information into easy-to-read chunks. With her simple ways to improve your digestion, you'll learn:
-- Chew your food! Your stomach does not have teeth. Stomach acid works on a microscopic level. Salivary enzymes must mix thoroughly with all carbohydrates to ensure proper digestion and absorption of nutrients. You cannot extract nutrition from bite-sized pieces of food traveling intact through the delicate tissues of the digestive tract.
-- Water consumption is vital. Divide your weight by two and drink that many ounces of water a day. Not coffee or tea or juice, water. Drink half an hour before eating or two hours after eating so that you don't dilute your digestive juices.
-- Consume plenty of fiber. Including vegetables, whole grains and legumes. Flax fiber can be added to increase moisture in the stool and thereby soften it. Avoid psyllium (the main ingredient in most fiber products) because it can cause gas and bloating.
-- Minimize your caffeine intake. Caffeine, like laxatives (including herbal ones) and nicotine, stimulates spasming in the digestive and eliminative tracts, forcing food and waste along too quickly. All of these stimulants create dependency in the body.
-- Reduce your stress! There are as many neurotransmitters in the gut as there are in the brain, responding to all of your emotions. Meditation, yoga, deep breathing, walking and laughing can all improve your digestion.
-- Try taking a digestive enzyme with meals. Enzymes break chemical bonds, releasing nutrients from food. For many reasons, many people produce insufficient enzymes. I suggest a product that includes protease (for proteins), amylase and cellulase (for carbohydrates) and lipase (for fats).
Whether you are searching for relaxation strategies, foods, and herbal supplements that support proper digestion; or you have an interest in cleansing and detoxification, Brenda Watson's Gut Solutions: Natural Solutions for Your Digestive Problems, is a great place to start. Remember, Most digestive and eliminative disorders are reversible if you are willing to make some changes in your diet or lifestyle.

Very Informative Book5
As a fellow Certified Colon Hydrotherapist, I feel that this book is a wonderful assest to any library. It makes it very easy to understand. The topic of digestion is something that everyone is interested in but many people don't ask their doctors or any other health care professional. The digestive system is essential for the rest of our body to work properly. I hope that this book gives hope to everyone that is suffering with any digestive issues or if they know someone who is.

Natural Digestive Care Solutions--Finally5
It's about time someone came out with an easy to understand book about natural solutions for digestive diseases and disorders. What's good about this book, is that it actually explains information about the disorder you are suffering from (what causes it, how did you get it, what is it), then it tells you what your traditional doctor will want you to do, finally the book tells you how to take care of what you are suffering from naturally. I highly recommend this book for anyone that is suffering from disgestive diseases/disorders. It's made all the difference in the world for me.
