Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
The 'Mi' sect of Buddhism is also known as the secret sect of Buddhism. Its techniques and practices are usually only shared with those that had taken refugee with a master. Liu, Hanwen learned these techniques from family members who were practicing Buddhists. He synthesized them and shared with people all across China. American-born Chinese Eileen Hu studies Chan Mi Gong in China for over a year. She has translated this esoteric practice into a simple, easy-to-read English version.

From the Author
My great-grandfather was born in Shandong Province. He first studied medicine, then became a monk. My father practiced both medicine and meditation. My aunt became a nun at a young age. She practiced Taoism and medicine. My ancestors practiced different types of qigong and medicine. These they taught me at home. They have been systematized under the name Chan Mi Gong, a combination of the theory and practice of the Chan and Mi sects of Buddhism.

From the Back Cover
