Customer Reviews
The best dog-book I've ever read.
Even it's not written in my own language, as I speak Portuguese, reading this book was like having the author with me on a very nice talk about Welsh Terriers , talking about her experiences, and teaching me about this wonderfull breed.
Destined to be a classic
From Reviewers Bookwatch--February 1999 "Welsh Terriers are known to be a quirky and independent, and Bardi McLennan brings these delightful canines to life in THE WELSH TERRIER LEADS THE WAY. The book is destined to be a classic reference on the breed. Mclennan looks at the development of the breed, the land where it was created, and the purpose for which it was bred. The WELSH TERRIER touches on all aspects of owning a welsh terrier, from history to breeding, from prominent kennels to whelping a litter. Comprehensive, insightful, authoritative, THE WELSH TERRIER is essential for all who own or aspire to own this remarkable animal"
This book is destined to be the new bible of the breed
From the Rocky Mountain Welsh Terrier Club Newsletter..." Bardi's authorial voice is quite clear in this wonderfull new book. It's not just a dry-as-dust recitation of pedigrees, but a lively, affectionate introduction to the breed and to the people both here and abroad who have loved and safeguarded it over the years. There are many pictures of show champions both new and old. This is not one of those dog books which makes the dog sound perfect for everybody, but a realistic treatment of a dog we'll all recognize.
