Gr 4-8--These titles cover a variety of jobs in specific career areas. Some professions require college degrees and others have non-college requirements for licensing. Individual chapters include probing questions that readers can use for self-assessment, e.g., "Do you have a lot of patience with people, or do you get frustrated with them easily?" or "How important is earning a high salary to you?" Vocabulary and sentence structure are simple and straightforward. Each book concludes with a chapter on getting a job and addresses to write to for further information. Animal Care explains what to include in a resume and how to prepare for an interview; Cosmetology describes apprenticeship programs. Clear photos in both black-and-white and color enhance the texts. Written for younger readers than the "Career Portraits" (VGM) or "Career Connections" (UXL) series, these titles are useful additions.
