Great Book for the Aspiring Wedding Photographer
Photographer/writer George Schuab did very well writing this book for the aspiring wedding photographer. Complete with wedding contract sample, wedding photography checklist and almost every other page gets right down to the nuts and bolts of PROPERLY photographing key events during the Wedding Day. Using natural and artificial light, posing, creative filters, choosing a professional lab, assembling brand name wedding albums, being sensitive to the needs of the bride, posing groups and even being properly attired for the occassion. This book is a definite must have in the library of all professional wedding photographers.
Out of date
I have purchased a lot of wedding photography books on Amazon and in the main have been very disappointed. Wedding photography moves fast and if the books are mainly an explanation of photographs then they date very quickly. You really need to buy a book that either shows classic photography (ala Bambi Cantrell's first book) or one that focuses on technique (like Kevin Kubotas book). Also one thing I find that is incredibly useful is seeing just how many people are selling their copies used.
Great reference book!
Why reinvent the wheel when Schaub and Sklute have set the groundwork for you? Reviewed are what brides want to see in purchasing their wedding shots. Handy reference tool to freshen up on what works and what doesn't.
