Product Description
Comfort patients, family, and caregivers with the beauty of the Psalms.
When Rev. Person worked as a chaplain in a Mayo hospital, patients frequently asked her to read psalms and pray with them. The Psalms contain beautiful, comforting language, but are often surrounded by verses that are not relevant to healing. Person has created a resource that any caregiver—chaplain, nurse, hospice worker, pastor, or family member—will treasure. It is a Psalter, created entirely from the Psalms, but culled in such a way as to retain only the most helpful verses.

Editorial Reviews
From the Author
I was prompted to write this book, PSALMS FOR HEALING because of my work as a pastor and as chaplain resident (for one year) at Mayo Medical Center. For example, as I met patients in hospitals who were facing illness, crisis situations, or other circumstances I desired to offer them a helpful resource. The psalms are one of the richest sources of strength and support. However, not every verse of every psalm is particularly appropriate to a given situation. My goal in PSALMS FOR HEALING was to compile psalms or particular verses from psalms and to write prayers based on those psalms that could be used by clergy, lay ministers, caregivers in their visits with patients. The prayers following each psalm may also be easily adapted for personal or family prayer.
