Don Bluth's "Furry" Tale
Don Bluth is another animator I love along side Max Fleischer and Hayao Miyazaki, and this film An American Tail is one of my favorites from him; It is a childhood favorite.
A reason I like mice (not rats) is that well...they are the "goodbeasts" from my books like the "Redwall" series by Brian Jacques (my favorite author) and also "Mrs Frisby and The Rats of NIMH" by Robert C. O'Brien, which was maded into another film by Don; well those rats are good so I could accept that. I love the romantic scene with Tony and Bridget (when they first meet that is), and besides I love Bridget,Tony,Tanya and Fievel himself.
Classic all the way!!!
Oh my god, this is 1 of those films on Christmas, and it will have you in tears for poor Fievel. Unlike disney who's animation and story telling are good, but don't have that special unique heart catching plots like Don Bluth, this is a classic film non stop, you have to see this
Heart Felt but Slow Moving
This movie was one of the greatest movies that was released in the eighties. Now as a parent, I tried introducing my four year old daughter to this movie. She had no interest in it at all. As I watch today, I did notice slow moving plots in the beginning. After the first half hour it becomes more entertaining. I do not recommend this movie for kids with short attention spans.
