About the Author
Daniel Brett (Eureka, California) is a veteran hiker who has walked trails across the United States and Europe. A cultural anthropologist by training, and a former Forest Service and National Park Service technician in Arizona and California, his articles have appeared in Backpacker, Country Back Roads, and California Blacksmith.
