Everybody in Fallon's Landing remembers Quaid O'Fallon as the street-tough kid adopted by the tight-knit clan and made into one of their own. Quaid's spent the last few years working in the Coast Guard Search and Rescue in Alaska, but he's still got a hint of danger humming under the surface - and a heart fiercely loyal to the man who saved him, Rory O'Fallon. That's why he had to come back home. What he doesn't expect is to run into the only person who's ever cracked his armour, Cynthia James. His attraction to the single mom has lasted years even though they're worlds apart. She loves New York; he loves the River. She's "Vogue"; he's "Field & Stream". She designs beautiful clothes; his job is fishing people out of dangerous waters. He may be a rough-and-tumble river man, but he's not about to let a second chance at his dream woman get away...Cynthia came home to Fallon's Landing in defeat after her smooth-talking husband ran her clothing business into the ground and left her with their son to raise. The last thing she needs is another man in her life, no matter how incredibly tempting he is. But Quaid's always been a fascination to her. She's wondered what those strong arms would feel like wrapped around her, or what ways a man that bold might have of pleasing a woman. He's all wrong for her, but once she shuts out the rest of the world and tastes Quaid's hungry kisses, all she can think about is just how right he feels.

From Booklist
After 40-year-old Cynthia Landon's lowlife husband drives her to bankruptcy, she moves from Manhattan, where she'd had a successful clothing-design business, to O'Fallon's Landing, Tennessee, where she grew up. The only male she still trusts is her genius eight-year-old son, Lawrence. Local bad-boy Quaid O'Fallon, home from the Coast Guard, has had a thing for Cynthia since he was a teenager. At first, Cynthia doesn't take him seriously. After all, he's seven years younger than she is. But Quaid is no quitter, and soon he has Lawrence wanting him for a father and Cynthia wanting him, period. Castell's contemporary romance is filled with quirky characters, from the nuns with the black bandanas to the ghost of Ulysses S. Grant. And there's lots of action involving secondary characters. Fans of Lori Foster will like the buzz and level of sensuality in this sequel to Castell's The Way U Look Tonight (2006). Shelley Mosley

Romance & Suspense
The book we have been waiting for is finally here. The final book in the O'Fallon's trilogy is about to come out, which is great but at the same time I hate to see the end of the series.
Quaid O'Fallon, the street kid that Rory adopted and made his own had to come home to Fallons Landing when he found out there was trouble brewing around his father, new little sister Bonnie and the missing mother. Quaid had been in Alaska for years with the Coast Guard Search and Rescue, but family comes first and he has to help his family out so he quits his job and comes home. Cynthia Landon James has found her way home, with her eight year old son Lawrence, after a messy divorce where her ex-husband has taken everything - her fashion design business, bank accounts - leaving her with nothing to show for her successful years in New York. Things are not the way she remembers them and she cannot believe the way things have gone since she was away. Cynthia has sworn off all men, they are just bad karma for her. Quaid has never forgotten the one woman, who even in his younger years, had set his heart a pumping but who never gave him the time of day back then because of the difference in their social standing. Whenever these two get close to one another there is enough heat generated that it is like a spark to dry wood igniting a full fledge fire. There are problems to overcome, one being age difference, but Quaid is not going to let anything stand in his way this time around. Readers are in for a treat as we watch Quaid and Cynthia coming to terms with their respective demons. The secondary characters only heighten and add to the suspense as the race against time, to find Bonnie's mother before the ruthless people that are out to silence her do, is fast running out. The reader is taken on an emotional ride in this story, and Dianne has done a super job of tying up all the ends as well as delivering a terrific heart warming read.
If you have never read a story from Dianne, you certainly cannot go wrong with this series, this book in particular delivers romance, suspense and the feeling of family bonds that tie. I recommend it and look forward to more books in the future from Dianne as she is just getting better and better at weaving stories for her readers.
