Product Description

Zadie Roberts, LA high-school teacher, has torturous experiences with the fairy-tale world of California weddings. Dropped at the altar by her soap-star fiance, she's been just about recovering in LA with her best male friend Grey. Until, that is, Grey proposes to Zadie's ultra-straight and prissy cousin Helen. Before she knows it, Zadie's back in wedding festivity hell, culminating in Helen's dull-as-ditchwater hen night. But as the cocktails go down, secrets are revealed, and the night takes one hell of a turn - this is one bachelorette party no one will ever forget...

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
It should come as no surprise that the coauthor of the movie Legally Blonde has penned an equally hilarious, female-bondingâ€"inspired romp. Zadie Roberts is an attractive high school teacher who finds herself fantasizing about the young Abercrombie model in her English class as the rest of her friends pair off in grown-up relationships and get hitched. Not that she's against monogamy - her soap opera star fiancee; recently abandoned her at the altar, leaving her a little bit bitter and a lot horny. When she learns her best friend, Grey, is getting engaged to her perfect, prudish cousin Helen, Zadie thinks the world as she knows it might truly have ended. To make matters worse, Zadie must attend Helen's bachelorette party, complete with tea, yoga and the type of "dull women who have two-hour conversations about the contents of their children's diapers." But then the party takes a naughty turn, and chaste and virtuous Helen sets out to prove that she isn't the "uptight" girl everyone thinks she is. When all is said and done, Zadie must decide if her loyalties lie with her cousin or her best friend. Will she save Grey from a future of unhappiness or simply ruin their friendship forever? Laugh-out-loud funny with a nasty edge, this is chick lit for mean girls. (Feb)

From Booklist
Zadie Roberts was literally left standing at the altar by her now famous soap-star fiance. Even though it was more than six months ago, the last thing she wanted was to be associated with anything bridal. So, when her best friend, Grey, announces that he is engaged to Zadie's conservative and beautiful cousin, Helen, Zadie's life hits a new low--he wants Zadie to get Helen to loosen up a little at the bachelorette party. Not even sure if the prim and proper Helen knows how to have fun, Zadie reluctantly promises to show her a good time. But when the posh, sedate party goes off track and Helen throws her good-girl image out the window for a night of drinking, debauchery, and maybe even one last fling, Zadie is sure this wasn't what Grey had in mind and is torn as to what to tell him about Helen's behavior. Don't look for more than an easy read, mindless fun, and proof that women can be just as raunchy as men. Carolyn Kubisz

Loved it!5
If you want a great chick lit, look no further. This one is absolutely amazing! Laugh out loud funny! The characters as well as the plot were completely believable. You could easily relate to one of the characters. The humour was raunchy. I loved the way the main character was so blunt and open. This is a must read!

Abercrombie Models and Blow-Up Dolls4
An absolutely fantastic book, one of the best chick-lit reads I've had in a while. It was fast-paced, and although there were way too many fragmented sentences, the book had charm and appeal. Completely relatible to everyday life, "The Bachelorette Party" chronicles a few months in the life of Zadie Roberts, a private school English teacher whose best friend gets engaged to her cousin. The party itself is completely true-to-life, and the characters that accompany Zadie and her cousin during the entire day of the party are spectacular. I could relate each woman to one of my friends or co-workers. A great book with fantastic humour, and I can't wait for her next novel!
