About the Author
RICHARD GOLDSBY is a dedicated teacher and researcher and teaches immunology and other biomedical science courses to undergraduates at Amherst College. His research focus is the somatic mutation of antibody genes in the generation of antibody diversity.

THOMAS J. KINDT has 30 years experience in the field of immunology and has made both theoretical and experimental contributions. He directs the intramural research program of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a position that places Dr. Kindt at the forefront of experimental and clinical immunology.

BARBARA A. OSBORNE is an investigator in immunology and a recognized contributor in the fast-moving area of apoptosis, or programmed cell death. Dr. Osborne also teaches immunology to undergraduate and graduate strudents at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
