It's Suze's sixteenth summer, but instead of spending it at the beach, she's trapped working as a baby-sitter at a swanky resort. Never mind that one of her charges turns out to be a budding mediator himself, or that his older brother has major boyfriend potential. Suze has way more important things to deal with, like the discovery of a grave in her own backyard.
Does it belong to Jesse, the hot cowboy ghost with whom she shares a bedroom? Is that why he's suddenly nowhere to be found? Or is Jesse's disappearance due to something much more nefarious...even diabolic? Suze is as determined to find Jesse as she is to avenge his murder...even if she must risk certain death herself.

Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Grades 7-10--The fourth installment in this series finds Suze spending her summer baby-sitting at the Pebble Beach Hotel and Golf Resort in California. Her stepbrother and stepfather discover a skeleton while digging a hole in their backyard. Suze is a typical 16-year-old-except that she can see and communicate with ghosts. Her troubles include tending to a shy baby-sitting charge; wondering if she can possibly feel "the L word" for Jesse, the hot 150-year-old ghost that shares her bedroom; and having the ghost of Jesse's fianc‚e hold a knife to her throat. Carroll's creative storytelling ability is proven in a dramatic exorcism scene and in an encounter with a purgatory guard who is a Russell Crowe look-alike. Although almost every male in this book is a "hottie" and coincidences abound (her baby-sitting charge is a mediator, as is her high school principal, Father Dominic), the plot development is steady and, if not always believable, it is satisfying. Readers familiar with this series will love the evolving romance with Jesse and solving the identity of the skeleton and the murderer. Despite occasional copyediting mistakes, this entertaining read will thrill fans of R. L. Stine's "Fear Street" series and the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" books (both Archway).

ONE OF THE SERIES BEST!
What can I say about it? It has JESSE DE SILVA on of the sexiest man of fiction, but besides being hot he is also all gentlamanly and well... you girls now
As Summer job Suze is a babysitter at the Pebble Beach Hotel, her current burden a young and scared-cat boy named Jack Slater. Soon we found out why Jack is so afraid as another character comes forward Jack's older brother Paul.
Then, after ex-fiancé Maria De Silva Diego, showed up to threat Suze, Jesse is suddenly gone. This book might content the answers around the mistery of Hector De Silva demise.
Really Great Read!
I really like all of Jenny Carroll's (aka Meg Cabot) books, but this is one of my favorites.
This book is the fourth in the Mediator series, and i really like it. Here's some things about the book:
-You find out more about Jesse's death
-You get introduced to Paul, a guy who'll hang around Suze for a while, a guy who may look good, but not such a good influence
-Suze finds out more about mediating (or is it shifting?)
-Jesse's knife-wielding ex-fiance, Maria De Silva, is here, along with her slave-driving, uber icky husband
-Suze gets a nice bruise on her forehead the size of Texis, afer getting thrown off a roof.
Interested? Well, get reading! This is a really good book, and very funny. (...)
Love it!
I loved the Mediator series and the 1-800-WHERE-R-YOU books. In the Mediator series the main character is Susannah. I love how she starts talking fashion while kicking ghost butt. Also she is funny in the way she thinks.
In the book she likes a ghost named Jess. She always does somehting to protect him without telling him about it and ends up getting them into even more trouble then they alredy are in.
