Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
When television host Williams was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999, he started researching the links between food and exercise and health, to discover how he could feel less pain and have more positive energy. He firmly believes that everyone, whether they're suffering a chronic disease or not, should quit eating junk food and start eating more fruits and vegetables and exercising daily. So he's organized a week-by-week program for readers, featuring food and activity diaries to record everything that's eaten, the exercise done each day and a list of specific plans for how to live well. While his basic advice is not surprising, his chef's recipes are curious. Many include an alarming amount of salt, while others painstakingly avoid meat or dairy, like the pasta-free, cheese-free Green Squash Lasagna, even though Williams himself says he's a flexitarian who occasionally enjoys a good juicy cheeseburger. In addition to an illustrated guide to exercising, Williams has packed the book with statements from experts reiterating the health benefits of improved diet and exercise. Williams is a charismatic cheerleader—and his book will likely inspire fans—but even that may not be enough to sell Green Drinks or salmon right out of the can for breakfast. (Jan.)

Nothing short of spectaular
This book is nothing short of specacular!! It makes you rethink how you shop, cook, and eat every day. It will change your life and not only a little bit but hugely. It was a great wake up call on what you are putting in your mouth and what you can/will expect out of that in rergards of how your body will respond to it.

Living Well
Montel shares his challenges and his specific experience with Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) and prescribes his dietary discipline in attending to all these challenges. Living Well: 21 Days to Transform Your Life, offers dietary and other advice to individuals who are struggling with MS and other ailments as well. An excellently written book a great peek into Montel's challenges! Montel is an award winner for his TV Talk Show. This book,"Living Well: 21 Days to Transform Your Life" has also given him great acclaim!
Some other great books about the lives of private and public individuals: "Fluctuating Life", a book of poetry by Joshua Spencer which speaks to his life experiences and struggles including his fairly recent emergency surgery and encounter with poverty and discrimination in Canada. This book of poetry is really uniquely written and quite symbolic in the style of writing! He did several odd jobs in Toronto, such as washing dishes, packing grocery shelves, etc after teaching high school in his homeland, Jamaica for more than ten years!
Joshua Spencer is a teacher with the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) who has only recently managed to secure a permanent teaching position ( September 1, 2007) after being in Canada since 1993! The second book is "Quest for a Dream - A Life Committed to Progress" on the life of Dr. Buchanan, an individual who has been contributing to his country in significant ways since his adolescent stage. Dr. Buchanan was also a Jamaican and died suddenly from a bloodclot on September 18, 2005.
Interestingly, Joshua Spencer and Dr. Buchanan were close friends in Jamaica. The writer, Joyce Buchanan, social worker, author, Educator and entrepreneur is a former colleague of Joshua Spencer as well. These books should be read. Ask your local libraries and bookstores to acquire these books if they don't already have them.
It has been brought to this reviewer's attention that neither "Fluctuating Life" nor "Quest for a Dream - A life Committed to Progress" is available in Canada! The question is why not?
