Null, a well-known spokesperson for natural health and aging (Gary Null's Ultimate Anti-Aging Program), offers another volume on how to deal with the physical effects of aging. According to the author's research, illnesses such as cancer, heart disease and degenerative brain conditions are, in part, caused by damage inflicted by free radicals-unstable molecules that impair cells. The bodies' defenses against free radicals are antioxidants that can neutralize the free radicals' effect. In order to lessen the number of free radicals, Null believes it is necessary to drink pure water, exercise properly, follow a power aging diet and consume a variety of antioxidant vitamins, herbs and minerals that should boost the immune system. Null's exhortations to detoxify the body will sound familiar to devotees, but others may find his program overly stringent and too detailed. The cardiovascular protocol, for example, is quite complex. His diet program (he calls it the non-diet diet) is similar to what he has been recommending for years: strictly avoid red meat, caffeine, sugar, dairy, alcoholic beverages and wheat products. The mainly vegetarian meals (menus are included) that he advocates should be composed of organic products.

Gary Null did an excellent job of educating the importance of diet
Dr. Null's writing style simplifies the jargon, and communicates recent scientific studies about the importance of diet and exercise in a clear and meaningful way. Fast-food and soft-drink distributors have infiltrated our schools while our educators and decision-makers slash P.E. classes and neglect the importance of teaching students the absolute importance of feeding our bodies right. Gary Null inform the general public that we can heal ourselves, we do not need to depend on prescriptions, and invasive medical techniques to fix a problem. And we can rid ourselves of our addiction to fast food and junk food. Supplement with nutrients that you can trust are pure, fresh and undiluted, Do a whole body cleanse with natural juices and fasting,
-- Chew food slowly, do not eat when under stress
-- Buy only organic produce whenever possible
-- Eat only deep water seafood, like salmon, halibut, cod, etc.
-- Do not eat shellfish, shrimp, lobster, or catfish.
If you choose to eat meat or poultry, purchase only organic or all natural grass fed, and don't make it the main course, use meat sparingly to accent your other dishes, like beans, grains, and vegetables.
-- Do not eat pork. Stay away from fast food resturants. There is no mystery to living a healthier and more active life, it's just that most Americans are under nourished and wondering why they are sick or have diseases.
In his book, Null also explains that good nutrition means eliminating animal foods, caffeine, sugar, dairy, wheat, hormones and antibiotics from our diets. He describes the revolution in nutritional research, and demonstrates that there certainly are safe, effective, less expensive, and superior natural alternatives to man-made pharmaceuticals.
The book also deals with alternative approaches to heart disease, cancer, the aging brain, and anti-aging in general.

Since being a member of one of Gary's health support groups and following his program to the letter, I like to stay in touch with what is new. I read the reviews and decided to buy the book and judge for myself. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything new or different that I could use to update my current lifestyle....what is his definition of "Power Aging" anyway.
Exactly Whats Needed
'Power Aging' presents clear, ready-to-use facts.
What I have found about anything that Dr. Gary Null writes is that it always gets right to the heart of what you need to know, to learn, and to understand, but its always written in an engaging, clear, lay-level, and respectful way. So you really get the message as a reader that this author has your health and wellbeing at heart, kind of like a 'nutritional best friend', guiding us through with a roadmap on our road to wellness. Not only that, but he is also careful to present to the reader all the facts you'd need to know that would break down those popular misconceptions that we are exposed to about such modern dietary hazards as sugar, that we'd otherwise take for granted.
'Power Aging' is no exception. Its a solid book, loaded with facts and details, with easy step-by-step advice. And given the importance of its information the book is exceptional value for money. I am an average layperson in nutrition, but reading 'Power Aging' I have come away with a far greater comprehension of exactly what is necessary to keep my body rejuvenated than with anything else I've picked up and read. I strongly recommend this book.
