Show Her the Money by Stephanie Feagan
Silhouette Bombshell # 40 - April 2005

RITA Nominee for Best First Book

Whitney aka "Pink" is a CPA recently fired from her job for whistle blowing their fraudulent practices to the SEC resulting in hearings before a senate finance committee. Pink has been granted immunity from any wrong doing as a result of her association with her former firm. Unfortunately this immunity hinges on documents that have been recorded on disk and now the disk in unattainable for several weeks. Forced to move back to Dallas and take a job for her mother as a forensic accountant, Pink finds that her troubles have followed her. She's being threatened by her former bosses, by employees of the company she blew the whistle on, and by a stalker who likes to leave dog poo with his threatening messages. And while all this is going on, Pink's new job brings her even more danger. And to top it off, Pink now has three love interests; Senator Steve on the finance committee; her new boss, Sam; and her lawyer, Ed. But as Ed puts it, Pink likes his chili best

This is my first Bombshell. It's written in the first person, which took me awhile to get used to. Ms. Feagan meets the challenge of creating developed characters only through Pink's eyes. This story was fun, witty, sexy and with a few moments of intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I'm glad this one was nominated for Best First. Ms. Feagan's Pink finds herself caught in situations that could jeopardize her immunity. Yet she manages to squeak through them with the help of her friends. This is a fun read, and well worth seeking out and reading. I'm looking forward to reading Pink's next adventure.
