Between the reality of being six weeks pregnant by a guy she's dated for two months and the fantasy of pushing a baby stroller down Columbus Avenue with a wedding ring on her finger were a lot of possibilities for twenty-nine-year old Manhattan publishing peon Sarah Solomon. Will the baby's father run screaming for the nearest subway ...or pop the question?

From Booklist
The Solomon family has never been close, and Ally and Sarah have never warmed to Zoe, their father's daughter by his second wife. But when they find themselves all living at their father's penthouse apartment, each grappling with a personal crisis, they quickly realize they're going to have to get along. Ally, a successful lawyer who desperately wants a child, caught her husband cheating on her with her Pilates instructor. Sarah is pregnant with the child of a guy she's only been dating for a month and a half. And Zoe, a relationship expert, just lost her own boyfriend over her inability to commit. To make matters worse, their distant father is about to marry a woman half his age, and Zoe's mother seems to have come unhinged over his impending nuptials. Senate scored high with See Jane Date (2001), and she now presents another winner that will have readers cheering for the warm, witty, and lovable Solomon sisters as they wise up, find romance, and learn to love each other. very good, could have been a bit better
Ally and Sarah are the two daughters from Bart Solomon's first marriage, which ended when he left them for Zoe's mother. After 25 years, he leaves HER for Giselle, a 25-year-old friend of Zoe's.
This is the backdrop of the problems each woman experiences -- 34-year-old lawyer Ally finds her husband cheating on her with her Pilates instructor; 29-year-old Sarah finds herself pregnant by a man she barely knows, and Zoe, who runs a sucessful business as LA's "Dating Diva" finds herself cheated on.
With nowhere left to go and their father planning a wedding, all 3 end up at his NYC apartment --- Zoe to find her mother in NYC, who plans to disrupt his wedding to Giselle.
While well-written and enterprising, drawing good characters and situations, Senate nonetheless uses pat endings. Disappointing in that light.
A good read
Meet the Solomon sisters. They come together with a secret. Read how they share their private thoughts and learn that it's ok that family can see your faults. They lean on each other and through their support each learns important lessons about herself. This is a definitely a feel-good book for the summer. By the end, you'll find yourself hoping for the best for Sarah, Ally, and Zoe.
Couldn't put the book down
Melissa Senate did a sensationl job with this story! I was compelled to keep reading, I couldn't put the book down and couldn't wait to see what the next chapter held. Having four sisters of my own, I grew to relate with all three sisters and it was wonderful how their relationships with one another developed throughout the story. They grew closer as sisters, became best friends and also helped change one another's lives. Thanks for a wonderful book Melissa!
