Continuing work begun in Carriers of the Dream Wheel (1975), poet/scholar Niatum assembles 36 North American Indian poets, Momaday, Welch, Ortiz, Young Bear, Harjo, and Erdrich among them. Each poet gets 3 to 10 poems and, in an appendix, a brief biography/bibliography. This doesn't seem quite enough; still, anthologies ought not to satisfy but whet the appetite, and this one does.
