Product Description
You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl, to have and to hold . . .
The song "Daddy's Little Girl" has been a favorite of fathers and daughters -- and mothers, too -- for more than fifty years. In this first ever picture-book version, an adoring rabbit daddy and his little bunny bring the moving lyrics to life as they share special moments that demonstrate the special bond reserved for daddies and their little girls. The full lyrics and music are included for the whole family to enjoy together.
"Daddy's Little Girl" was written by Bobby Burke and Horace Gerlach in 1949.It was an instant hit, and has gone on to become a staple of wedding reception playlists for the dance shared by a bride and her father. This and a companion song, "Daddy's Little Boy," written by Billy Collins in 1950, have been recorded by many artists, notably by the Mills Brothers, and are considered American standards.

Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 2-Most children will not have heard this song, written more than 50 years ago, whose lyrics are so touchingly portrayed in this book. Starring a charming rabbit family, Kneen's soft, textured watercolors are soothing and inviting. For example, the line "You're sugar, you're spice, you're everything nice" is illustrated with the image of the father and daughter creating an array of delicious-looking cakes and cookies. The complete score and lyrics are appended. While the song may be limited in appeal because of its old-fashioned tone and its reference to a Christian holiday ("You're the spirit of Christmas, my star on the tree"), the illustrations are confections worth tasting.
